ASSAULT, fireraising and stalking crimes were committed in the Cowdenbeath area in the past week.

Figures published from the Cowdenbeath Police Twitter account have revealed that local officers tackled a number of issues from Monday, December 20 to Sunday, December 26 (Boxing Day).

A total of 204 calls were recorded for the area, with 32 of these requiring an immediate response.

This led to 22 crime files being recorded, which contained a total of 30 charges, 13 of which were detected.

Crimes in the Cowdenbeath area included assault, fireraising, fraud, and stalking.

Other offences included theft, theft by shoplifting, and threatening and abusive behaviour.

Road Traffic Offences (RTOs) were also responded to by police, with those driving with no insurance and driving with a provisional licence.
