A LOCHGELLY man caused a disturbance in the early hours of the morning by kicking at a front door and shouting.

Bernard Fitzpatrick, 36, of Paul Street, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on May 19, at Stephen Place, Lochgelly, he shouted, swore and kicked a door repeatedly.

Depute fiscal Laura McManus said the incident began at around 2am when Fitzpatrick was seen kicking the door and shouting: “What the f*** are you playing at? Who do you think you are?”

He appeared to be heavily intoxicated and police were contacted. Officers found him staggering about outside when they arrived.

Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said: “He’s the first to admit his record is unenviable to say the least.”

However, he added that his client was not offending to the same extent as previously and had stopped drinking to stay out of trouble.

He said his client had been at the house earlier but had left after a fall-out and was trying to get back in.

Sheriff Wylie Robertson deferred sentence for good behaviour until May 18.
