A COWDENBEATH man has been warned he could be in jail for Christmas after failing to engage in a community-based sentence.
A sheriff was far from impressed by the lack of effort shown by Robert Dow, ordered previously to do unpaid work.
Sheriff Tim Niven-Smith warned: “The court will jail him as a Christmas present if he doesn’t show the required commitment.”
He then told Dow: “I’ve no qualms about sending you to jail today but your solicitor has convinced me to give you a last chance.”
The sheriff called for the order to be reviewed at court on December 22.
Dow broke his ankle jumping from a window when police arrived at his home and was found to be in possession of a knuckleduster.
Robert Dow, 35, of Broad Street, appeared back at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for a review of his community payback order.
He admitted previously that on August 16, in Broad Street, he was in possession of an offensive weapon, a knuckleduster.
In February, Sheriff James Macdonald imposed a community payback order with 12 months of supervision and 180 hours of unpaid work.
