WITHIN the last few minutes, police have confirmed that the the body of a man found in Dunfermline last night (Monday) was that of missing man Michael McCreadie.
Officers were called after the body was found in the water in the Harribrae Park area around 8pm.
A police statement read: "The deceased has been formally identified as Michael McCreadie (50) who had been reported missing from the Dunfermline area. His family are aware.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
Earlier yesterday, officers had appealed for information in efforts to try to trace Mr McCreadie.
He was last seen leaving a friend’s house to walk home around 9pm on Friday last week, November 26, in the Victoria Terrace area of Dunfermline.
