A 'GROUND-BREAKING' act from Fife are set for a Christmas shindig.

David Hershaw, originally from Lochgelly, and Sandie Forbes will perform at Fire Station Creative in Dunfermline.

The duo combine elements of the Scottish Folk music tradition with modern songwriting, infusing familiar melodies with fresh arrangements.

Hershaw is an established singer-songwriter and has developed a unique and versatile finger-picking style of guitar. Forbes is a classically-trained violinist who branched out into traditional music as a teenager.

The duo will perform tracks from their latest album, ‘Setting Forth’, which was released in December last year.

Ahead of the gig, Hershaw said: "We're delighted to be back playing for the first time in two years at the Fire Station Creative, a great venue and arts hub in Dunfermline.

"It should be a real celebration, our first gig since the album Setting Forth was released, with lots of talented musicians and friends on hand to support us.

"We might even play a Christmas song or two!"

They will be supported on the night by special guests including Lawrie Macmillan (Stiltskin, Ray Wilson) Erik and Jenn Knussen, Ross Fairbairn (Paper Sparrows, Les Bof), Wullie Hershaw (The Bowhill Players) and more.

Tickets cost £10 on Eventbrite and from the venue cafe/bar.

Doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
