POLICE covering the Cowdenbeath area were called out to assaults and other crimes in the past week.

Figures published from the Cowdenbeath Police Twitter account have revealed that local officers tackled a number of issues from Monday, November 15 to Friday 21.

A total of 242 calls were recorded for the area, with 40 of these requiring an immediate response.

This led to 25 crime files being recorded, which contained a total of 30 charges, eight of which were detected.

Crimes in the Cowdenbeath area included assault, communication offences, theft and theft by shoplifting.

Other offences included theft by housebreaking, threatening and abusive behaviour, and vandalism.

Road Traffic Offences (RTOs) were also responded to by police, with those driving with no MOT and those with a dangerous load among the crimes.
