COWDENBEATH will unveil and launch their new away kit this weekend against Kelty Hearts.

Club secretary David Allan, said: "Both clubs of course have a shared heritage in representing communities with proud mining roots.

"And our desire this year was indeed to have a strip that suitably reflects those roots – particularly bearing in mind that it was 100 years ago we experienced the impact of the 1921 Miners Lockout in Cowdenbeath - the first of the two great mining disruptions of the 1920s.

"There is also a nod intended to the 120th anniversary of the Donibristle Disaster which still retains its own resonance in Cowdenbeath all these years later.

"Thus our 2021/22 away kit has been designed with that mining heritage fully in mind – in particular in its colouring.

"In addition, for this kit edition, the club crest has been redesigned on a tonal basis and that is matched by the similar adaptation of our sponsors’ logos – (and could there be a more apt name to adorn the front of such a shirt than Collier?).

"It is also entirely appropriate that the launch this Saturday coincides with our annual remembrance at Central Park."

The kit will be available to purchase from the club shop tomorrow and can also be bought online from Football Nation.
