HILL of Beath Hawthorn FC are looking forward to a brighter future after completing work on four new floodlights at their ground.

The upgrades at Keirs Park have seen the 15-metres high columns erected to provide better coverage of the pitch.

The planning application, submitted by chairman Dave Baillie in June, was approved by Fife Council last month and a development completion notice filed on October 6.

A council report concluded: "All of the lighting would face in onto the pitch and would not directly face any houses.

"The closest neighbouring house would be approx 20 metres away and the submitted light spill plan shows lux levels at around seven here and therefore there would be no significant detrimental impact on amenity."
