BENARTY Events Group were delighted to welcome back their Companions’ Club earlier this month after a break of 18 months due to the pandemic.
The club had to be postponed in March 2020, when the country went into the first Covid-19 lockdown and have not been able to meet again until Friday, October 1.
Chairperson, Eddie Easson, said: “We could have started the Club a month ago, but due to the more mature age-profile of the members, and the number of positive Covid cases in the area, we decided to take a more cautious approach and give it another few weeks.
“We agreed safety protocols with Fife Council representatives and did the necessary COVID training to allow us to start the Club again as safely as possible.”
Entertainment on the first week back was provided by Bobby Clarke and the lunch was provided by MaryAnn’s Kitchen.
Eddie added: “We look forward to welcoming more of our regulars and new companions back over the next few weeks.
“All will be made welcome. The club is free, and will meet every Friday from 11am till 2pm in the Benarty Centre.”
