A FALL-OUT between two friends in Cardenden resulted in one of them being hit over the head with a metal pipe.
Kenneth Vanbeck, 37, of Westfield Terrace, Cardenden, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted previously that on November24, at Westfield Terrace, he engaged in a fight with a man whereby he struck him on the head with a metal bar.
Depute fiscal Jill Currie said the two men had been friends since childhood. On the night of the offence, Vanbeck had been at home when his friend turned up there drunk.
The two of them got into a fight and both fell down a flight of stairs. Vanbeck then picked up a metal pipe which was lying there and struck his friend over the head with it.
The victim left the area but Vanbeck was concerned for his wellbeing and contacted the police.
Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said: βHe was minding his own business at home when his friend came barging in.β
Sheriff James Macdonald imposed a community payback order with 120 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of supervision.
