LOVE Cowdenbeath has launched a new partnership with multi award winning app LoyalFree, as part of the town’s recovery plan from Covid-19.

Cowdenbeath is just the second area in Scotland to launch the place promotion app, which is designed to boost footfall and sales by encouraging consumers to shop local safely.

LoyalFree showcases vital area information for locals and visitors including a guide, exclusive deals and loyalty schemes, fun events and interesting trails.

Andrew Walker, from Fife Council, explained: "The LoyalFree app provides the perfect solution for local businesses and it could not have come at a better time for the town.

“Many businesses are already making the most of the platform and we hope the local and visitors enjoy all the features the LoyalFree app has to offer.’’ Businesses will benefit from advertising opportunities, customer insights and social media support and it's an app that works across the UK – so users can tap into what the local area has to offer wherever they are.

Love Cowdenbeath is a business-led initiative bringing together local businesses, community groups and residents to celebrate the town's unique identity and promote it as a place to meet, shop, dine and be entertained.

Local businesses already signed up include Uptown Girl, HashTag Hair & Beauty and Precious Events.

LoyalFree’s digital trails are one way app users can explore the town’s history, hidden gems and best independent outlets.

There are already some trails live on the app including The Hair & Beauty Trail, Cowdenbeath Pubs Trail and the Street Art Trail, a bright and fun outdoor look at the best street art, murals and installations in Cowdenbeath.

Sophie Hainsworth, co-founder of LoyalFree, said: ‘‘We are overjoyed to be launching in Cowdenbeath and expanding the app in Scotland. It’s more vital than ever for digital solutions to support the high street experience and we hope businesses take advantage of everything the app has to offer.”

Download the app before October 18 and you can be in with a chance of winning a £50 voucher for a local business of your choice.

The competition can be entered every day for even more chances to win.
