A KELTY woman was banging on the floorboards of her home then shouted racial abuse.

Ashley Lewis, 33, of Black Road, appeared for sentencing in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted previously that on October 13, 2019, at her home, she conducted herself in a disorderly manner, shouted, swore, banged on the floorboards repeatedly, committed a breach of the peace and that the offence was racially-aggravated.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said there had been “previous ill-feeling” between Lewis and her neighbours.

On this night, Lewis spent two hours banging on her floorboards and when one of the neighbours went to ask her to stop making the racket she started shouting.

She called her neighbours “Polish b*******” and told them to “go home”.

Defence solicitor Peter Robertson said that his client had been at her “lowest ebb” at the time but had since turned her life around and was now at college.

He added she was “remorseful” about her actions.

The court heard Lewis was currently doing unpaid work for another offence.

Sheriff Alastair Brown deferred sentence until March 30 for Lewis to stay out of further trouble.
