THREE tribute bands will be looking to earn your stamp of approval as they perform in Dunfermline next month.

Rubber Stamp Promotions have lined up a few nights of live music at PJ Molloys in October for fans of rock, reggae and more.

The first night is Friday, October 8, as The Marley Experience plays all the hits you would expect from a band paying homage to the iconic Bob Marley.

The audience will hear One Love, Three Little Birds, I Shot the Sheriff, No Woman, No Cry and many more as the group celebrates the work of the undisputed king of reggae music.

That show is followed up by Dirty Harry, a fan favourite at PJ's over the years as the act honours Debbie Harry and Blondie, on Friday, October 15.

Formed in Edinburgh in early 2011, Dirty Harry was created out of singing doctor Sarah Kennedy’s desire to create an act which could play homage to "everyone’s favourite rock goddess".

Nearly four decades after Blondie emerged onto the anarchic downtown New York punk scene, Kennedy struck gold on Gumtree and found four Edinburgh musicians to complete the line-up.

The Southmartins will then play PJ's on Saturday, October 23, for the first time.

The band are a tribute to The Beautiful South and The Housemartins, with occasional forays into Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot's other work.

Formed in late 2009 and gigging regularly ever since, they have built a good reputation as a live band, playing pubs, clubs, festivals and Paul Heaton's pub - the Kings Arms - on numerous occasions.

With an unbeatable songbook to draw upon including classics such as Happy Hour, Caravan of Love, Perfect 10, Don't Marry Her, You Keep It All In and many more, their high energy live shows frequently sell-out in advance and garner rave reviews from customers expecting something, perhaps, a little more "traditional".

"The band are not trying to imitate or resurrect anything, they don't do all that dressing up stuff, but they do have, what they think is, a healthy irreverence for the songs," promoters say.

"Sometimes they play them very much like the records and other times they take them somewhere else, but all in the name of putting on a good show and putting a smile on the audience's faces and a song in their collective big mouth!"

Doors open at 7pm for all shows, aged for those 16 and over.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from Ticketweb.
