POLICE in Fife have been carrying speeding concerns following reports from worried residents.

Officers from Cowdenbeath kept watch at Springhill Brae, Crossgates, this morning after a number of residents raised concerns about speeding motorists.

Darren Watt, councillor for Cowdenbeath, praised officers for responding to the concerns.

He said: “Following ongoing concerns from local residents about reckless speeding on Springhill Brae in Crossgates, it is great to see the police responding and taking action.

“Fife Council have also responded and a speed survey will be carried out very soon. This will provide useful data about traffic volume and speeds, and will help determine if additional traffic calming measures are required.

“If you have concerns about vehicles exceeding the speed limit in certain areas, please contact the local police on 101. If they are not aware, they cannot act.”
