A LOCHGELLY High pupil was recognised for her voluntary efforts last month when she was given an award.

Teigan time and again gave up her own time to take on extra responsibilities around the school, and for this, she was given The Approach Saltire Award.

Sarah McIntyre, depute headteacher of the school, told the Times everyone at Lochgelly High is extremely proud of the young woman.

She said: “Last year, Teigan embodied our school values of Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience to achieve The Approach Saltire Award.

“Teigan volunteered her time and assumed different duties and responsibilities around the school during break and lunchtimes.

“By devoting her free time to volunteer, she was able to help and support our school community - staff and learners were both particularly impressed by her maturity and dedication.

“We are extremely proud of her achievements and hope her efforts inspire other young learners to volunteer and achieve the same success.”
