A MAN was arrested in Cowdenbeath last night after police smelt cannabis coming from his vehicle.

Road traffic officers on patrol in the area smelt the odour emanating from the car and pulled it over to give the driver a drug test.

The driver subsequently tested positive for both cocaine and cannabis and was arrested, with blood being taken.

Officers confirmed the driver will also be reported for having a bald tyre and cannabis possession.

A tweet from the force said: “#FifeRP ended a busy shift stopping this car in Cowdenbeath. Cannabis was smelt from within and after @DrugWipeUK failed indicating Cocaine and Cannabis the driver was arrested and blood taken.

“Also reported for a Bald tyre and possession of Cannabis. Ensure you’re #FitForTheRoad.”
