A BALLINGRY teenager who injured a police officer during a struggle has been sentenced.
Caitlyn McLean, 19, of Kirkland Gardens, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
She admitted that on December 11, at Kirkland Avenue, Ballingry, she shouted and swore at two police officers, threatened them with violence and struggled with them, which resulted in her head connecting with an officer’s head, causing injury.
Defence solicitor Russel McPhate said his client was now starting a college course and also works in a Dunfermline hotel.
“She’s very anxious to move on with her life,” he added.
Sheriff Alastair Brown told McLean: “Police officers have a difficult enough job to do without people kicking-off in the way you did.”
He imposed a community payback order with 120 hours of unpaid work.
