AN incorrect road sign that appeared at a notoriously bad junction in Cowdenbeath has been covered up with a bin bag.
The sign, which is at the top end of Cowdenbeath High Street at Lidl and B&M, indicates a right-hand turn from the right lane, while the road paint shows a right-hand turn only.
After Fife Council were alerted to the error, a bin bag has been used to cover it by councillor Darren Watt until the local authority can install a permanent fix.
The councillor said: "The relevant Council officer has acknowledged my concerns and is seeking to address, however, as I live literally round the corner, I took it upon myself to cover the sign up until Fife Council come out and deal with it properly.
"The road layout and traffic lights can cause some confusion for motorists, and we certainly don't need an inaccurate sign adding to that."
Mark Barrett, lead officer transportation development management (South Fife), said: "Unfortunately the wrong sign has been put up by the developer. We've been in touch with the developer to ask them to take the sign down as a matter of urgency and put the correct one up."
