THE A909 between Cowdenbeath and Kelty is currently closed due to a serious crash which has hospitalised two people.

The Times understands the road has been shut since around 10am following a nasty collision, although there are no reports on any injuries at this time.

Police Scotland confirmed that two people have been taken to hospital following the collision.

Many have reported that the busy road remains shut, with police diverting drivers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.40am on Wednesday, 28 July, officers were called to a report of a road crash involving two cars on the A909 near Kelty.

"Police and Ambulance attended and two people were taken to hospital.  The vehicles have since been recovered."
