THERE'S no chance of Lochore Welfare's players getting cold feet about their new challenge – they're doing a firewalk to raise money for a mental health charity.

The East of Scotland League side has announced an official partnership with Back Onside and the fundraiser will see members of the club step on burning hot coals.

Club chairman Tam Pullar said: “Over the summer the club has done a lot of work in various areas on mental health issues, but this partnership is by far our proudest moment.

“Mental health in sport is now a serious issue and as a club I am delighted we have chosen to get involved in helping to beat the stigma attached to this important issue.

“The club will proudly wear the Back Onside logo on our kit and there will be Back Onside boards around the park for the season, and we will soon be doing the Back Onside sponsored firewalk, where we hope the local community will help us raise money for a great cause."

He added: “I would like to thank the committee, who backed the idea from the start, and a special thanks to Tam Graham, our secretary, and Philip McGuire, chief operating officer at Back Onside, for their work in making this happen.

“I would encourage everyone to check out http://www.backonside.co.uk and for anyone who is suffering to seek the help that is there.

“Anyone wishing to sponsor our people on the firewalk please get in contact with a club official."
