A MAN has been arrested in connection with a three-vehicle crash on the M90 on Saturday.

Two people were taken to hospital for treatment after the smash, which happened on the northbound carriageway near junction 2.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 10.45am and the route was blocked for several hours as they dealt with the incident.

Traffic queued back for miles as a result with roads around Dunfermline and Rosyth becoming gridlocked.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a three-vehicle crash on the M90 around 10.45am on Saturday 17 July.

"A 59-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment.

"A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.”
