FIFE will not move to the lowest level of Covid restrictions, the first minister has confirmed.
Nicola Sturgeon this afternoon told parliament that cases are currently too high for Fife to move to level zero, as was previously hoped.
The first minister said last week that it was 'highly unlikely' that any area in Scotland would move down due to the rising number of cases across the country.
It was also heard that should things progress as they currently are, then restrictions will be lifted on July 19, although it could be earlier.
Every area should move to level zero on that date.
Physical distancing will also be lifted completely when outdoors on July 19.
More to follow.
