FIFE Council has granted permission for the demolition of buildings at a Fife industrial estate in order for a property development to be built.

In-site Property Solutions originally applied for permission from council planners back in 2019, as they sought approval to destroy buildings at Cowdenbeath’s Thistle Industrial Estate so they could build properties.

It is understood the developer will be looking to erect a block of flats three storeys in height with around 236 residential units.

The development would include road and sewage works in the area.

Council planners have now approved the papers meaning work will soon begin to bring down the existing buildings at the site, which the developer said was “nearing the end of its life”.
