A MAN screamed in pain after being hit by a brick thrown by his former partner.

Charlotte Spinks had been made subject previously to a non-harassment order but breached it by going to see her ‘ex’.

However, an argument broke out and she threw the brick, striking him on the back.

Spinks, 27, of Rae Street, Cowdenbeath, appeared from custody at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on May 8, at Thistle Industrial Estate, Church Street, she breached a non-harassment order and also bail conditions not to approach and contact her ex.

She assaulted him by throwing a brick at him, striking him on the body to his injury.

Depute fiscal Mat Piskorz said an argument had started between the pair and Spinks had then thrown her house key onto a neighbour’s roof.

“She was becoming louder and more enraged. She was asked to quieten down but this had little effect,” he went on.

Spinks then threw a brick from a distance of eight feet from her ex and it struck him on the back. “He screamed in pain and she ran off. It’s thought she may have been aiming it at his colleague, not him,” added the depute.

Defence solicitor David McLaughlin said: “These offences are troubling and the social work report is a troubling one as well. She is adamant she wasn’t aiming for her partner, which doesn’t make it any less serious.”

Sheriff James MacDonald jailed Spinks for 10 months and imposed a three-year non-harassment order.
