A NEW hairdressers could be set to open in Lochgelly after papers were submitted to the council seeking approval.

Permission is being sought to open a hairdressers in the space where a dressmakers and design studio occupied at the town’s Miners Institute on Main Street.

The rooms the applicant, Kenneth Livingstone, is looking to use have previously been used as a café and office facilities, and the proposed owner would like to use the space as a fully functioning hairdressers, as well as a space to teach early learning candidates.

There is currently already a dance studio, photography studio and piano tuition in the institute.

It is proposed that the hair studio will open three days a week from 9am-4pm between Monday and Saturday.
