VILLAGERS are being urged to share their views on a million pound project that will redevelop Humbug Park in Crossgates.

The community-led project will provide exciting new multi-functional facilities, such as Astro Turf, pitches, an education and heritage centre, as well as gyms.

New charity Primrose Community Trust, which was set up last year, is the driving force behind the ambitious redevelopment, which is likely to be completed at a cost of £1.5 million.

It would include the purchasing of Humbug Park from Fife Council.

The trust has been publicising their plans across Crossgates but have now asked villagers to partake in a survey seeking to capture individual and collective opinions on the way forward.

Chairman Ian Campbell told the Press: "Our vision is to provide facilities in Humbug Park for the benefit of the whole community.

"It's not just about football and sport but also recreation, heritage and education, so we'll be creating other buildings that will also be within the footprint of Humbug.

"It's a massive undertaking but it will add much needed facilities."

Primrose Community Trust is currently setting up its charitable status and they're also in talks about the purchase of the park from the council, as that is yet to be confirmed.

They will be designing, building and maintaining a full AstroTurf sports surface and floodlighting, with internal parking.

In addition, they plan to create bespoke buildings to accommodate fitness and health regimes, an education and heritage centre, facilities for general community togetherness including a cafe, kitchen facilities and meeting rooms for individuals, groups and clubs.

Ian added: "It's a massively exciting project and we're encouraging the community to engages as much as possible, whether they want to join in, help or let us keeping them informed about what we're doing.

"This is absolutely critical as this project is one where the success is directly related to our overall community engagement and transparency.

"We want to take people's views on board so if there is anything they want to see, then let us know."

The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. Please find the survey through the following link: https://s.surveyplanet.com/Hak4IPtdP
