A GROUP of kindhearted volunteers have banded together and given up their own time to give areas in Cowdenbeath a tidying up.
A member of the group, who did not wish to be named, told the Times: “On behalf of the group I would just like to take the opportunity to thank, indeed heap praise on, all the volunteers in the Cowdenbeath area - and they know who they are - especially the Beath School Group.
“They are giving up their own time to make Cowdenbeath a better place.
"The volunteers that I mention have been busy clearing several areas throughout the town, including Chapel Street ash park, pathways around Rosebank allotments, Dalbeath Marsh and the community woodland to name but a few.
“I would also like to thank Fife Council's Parks and Open Spaces for their assistance in removing the bags of rubbish and for various bits and pieces.”
