A MAN has been arrested following an armed response incident in Fife last night.
Police received reports that a man had a firearm on Kirkcaldy’s Dallas Drive at around 8.10pm, prompting a huge response including armed officers and a helicopter.
The man involved was eventually traced to a property in the Brodrick Road area of the town, where he was arrested.
Following a thorough search, no weapon was recovered and police now believe there was no firearm involved.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a man believed to be in possession of a firearm on Dallas Drive, Kirkcaldy, around 8.10pm on Monday, 5 April, 2021.
“Armed officers attended and the man was traced in the Brodrick Road area.
“No firearm was recovered following a search.
“A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a breach of the peace. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
