A POLICE investigation has been launched after a young girl was approached by an older man in a Cowdenbeath park on Saturday.
A 10-year-old girl was approached by the unknown male in Cowdenbeath’s Johnstone Park on Saturday night.
Local reports alleged that the man was violent towards the girl, although police have not confirmed this.
Sergeant John Weir said: “Around 9.10pm on Saturday, 3 April, 2021, we received a report that a man approached a 10-year-old girl as she walked along a path between Bervie’s Brae and Johnstone Park, Cowdenbeath, earlier in the evening.
“We understand the concern that this could cause local people and officers are currently carrying out enquiries to establish more information regarding this incident and trace the man involved.
“If anyone saw anything suspicious in the area that could help with our enquiries please call us on 101, quoting incident 4196 of Saturday, 3 April, 2021.”
