ANIMALS at a central Fife farm luckily escaped injury on Sunday afternoon after a fire started on the land.
Emergency services responded to reports of a blaze at a building on Cardenbarns Roads, Cardenden, at around 4.50pm on Sunday afternoon.
Two fire engines responded and extinguished a fire affecting a derelict shed.
There were no casualties and the Times understands the farm owner arrived in time to move all animals away safely.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 4.50pm on Sunday, February 21 to reports of a fire affecting a farm building on Cardenbarns Road, Cardenden, Fife.
"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene to extinguish the fire affecting hay in a derelict shed.
"There were no reported casualties.
"Crews left after making the area safe."
