A TEENAGER was involved in a crash when he was over the limit.
Aiden Early misjudged the road at a junction on the outskirts of Cowdenbeath and collided with a woman coming in the opposite direction.
Early, 19, of St Ronan's Crescent, Crosshill, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on November 18, in Bridge Street, Cowdenbeath, he drove having consumed excess alcohol.
His reading was 33 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.
Depute fiscal Jill Currie said the collision occurred at around 5.45pm at the junction with a slip road to the A92.
A woman was driving along Bridge Street after leaving work. Early was driving in the opposite direction and drove into her path.
“She was in shock and there was smoke coming from her car. The accused apologised to the woman after asking how she was,” added the depute.
Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said: “He had been at a friend’s and had consumed one can of alcohol. He didn’t think he would be over the limit and then misjudged the road.”
Sheriff Neil Bowie banned Early from driving for a year and fined him £700.
