THERE won't be any bin collections in West Fife today due to the snow and ice on the roads.

Fife Council said the severe weather will prevent them picking up household rubbish from the kerb but said the service would resume as soon as possible.

A statement sent out this morning said: "Our bin collection service is still being affected by the snow and there will be no collection today.

"Please continue to leave your bins out and we will get to them as soon as we can.

"Although most main roads are now clear, some side roads and housing schemes are difficult for our vehicles to access."

The council added: "Household waste recycling centres that are scheduled to be open today are open.

"Please remember that the online booking system is still in place and vehicles will not be allowed access without a booking.

"Although all sites have been cleared of snow to allow access, please take care if you are using the sites today."
