BAD feeling between two men at a Fife industrial estate erupted into a fight.

As a result, 61-year-old William Schulz, from Cardenden, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Schulz, of Jamphlars Road, admitted that on May 11, 2019, at Gammie Place, Cardenden, he engaged in a fight with another male.

Depute fiscal Jill Currie said both men worked at units at an industrial estate and had known each other for more than 20 years.

There were some issues between them which had become worse in recent times leading up to this incident, she added.

The depute went on: “At 2pm, the complainer engaged in a conversation with the accused, shouting at him, acting aggressively and goading him, it is accepted by the Crown.

“At around 3pm, the accused left the locus but returned shortly afterwards. The complainer was sitting in his car waiting for the accused.

“There was a heated conversation between them which ended in a physical fight. The accused was pulled to the ground and there was then some wrestling between them.

“The accused punched him and further blows were exchanged between them. Others present made attempts to separate them before the police arrived.”

The complainer was found to have a significant cut on the side of his head and was taken to the Victoria Hospital for treatment.

Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said his client was a first offender. “He’s embarrassed to find himself in court. His son is a serving police officer.”

Sheriff James Macdonald fined Schulz £300.
