A MAGICIAN who wowed judges on Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year has built up a new clothing brand after his bookings vanished into thin air.

Former Inverkeithing High pupil Cameron Young was working full time as an entertainer and had around 100 shows booked before Covid struck.

The 24-year-old took on full-time work in marketing but instead of admitting defeat, the budding entrepreneur came re-appeared with a brand new business.

After six months of hard work and investing every penny he owns, he is launching ‘Motivational Clothing’ next week, which focuses on gym clothing.

He told the Press: “I spent five years building my following as an entertainer and I had a big 2020 planned. I was booked up with shows and got the chance to go on Britain’s Got Talent and Italian TV.

“I found it absolutely heartbreaking that it was taken away from me, like a lot of entertainers. I’d always had an interest in business but I just never pursued it so I decided I would do an online course and in the process of that I came up with this idea of gym clothing.

“I’ve spent the last seven or eight months teaching myself how to build websites and a clothing brand.

“I’ve invested all my money into this and it’s been a lot of hard work but I’m so pleased I’m at the point where it’s ready to launch.”

Cameron started performing magic at the age of eight and amongst his many achievements, such as debuting at sold-out shows and winning awards, appearing at the London Palladium in January was a real career highlight.

Although he got through to the next round on BGT, his next appearance was put on hold. Not knowing when he could perform again made Cameron want to create a business that he could rely on.

“I don’t know what will happen as a magician but my clothing brand is something I want to make a success of and I hope it takes off," he said. “It has taken a lot of work and sleepless nights but I’ve got some Olympic hopefuls and athletes who are the best in their field modelling for me so I’m really confident in it.

“The garments are all manufactured by myself – I get the clothing and I have a machine for the logos and they will be packed and sent out from my home.

“I hope my story helps people know that you can lose everything but still fight back.”

Cameron’s website www.motivationalclothing.com launches on Monday.
