THE Co-op store on Dunfermline’s Linburn Road has re-opened after a major refurbishment costing £587,000.

Serving from 6am to 10pm, it supports 25 jobs and now has Amazon lockers as well as continuing to serve up tasty treats from Stephen's bakery.

The store also has Roll Over hot food, Costa Coffee Express and a bakery, with an increased focus on fresh, healthy produce, award winning wines, ready meals and pizzas, vegan products, Fairtrade, food-to-go and everyday essentials.

Together with the Kennoway store, which has also re-opened after a major refurbishment, the Co-op said more than £1.1 million has been spent in the Kingdom.

Regional manager Michael McCarthy said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to make such a significant investment in Fife – both sites have been transformed and we are looking forward to welcoming communities in Dunfermline and Kennoway back to their new-look stores.

"Co-op is committed to connecting communities and making a difference locally, and our aim is to operate at the heart of local life.

"That is why we also want customers to know that they can become a member of their Co-op, and they can make a difference every time they swipe their membership card when buying own branded products.”

The Co-op is helping to make a difference in Dunfermline through their Food Share scheme, which works to minimise food waste by helping local not-for-profit organisations to share food with those in need in the community.
