A COWDENBEATH community group is inviting local businesses to take part in their Christmas window display competition.

Cowdenbeath Civic Week has begun preparations for this year’s competition which they are hoping will spread a bit of positivity and Christmas cheer during an otherwise gloomy time.

A spokesperson for the group said: “It is almost time to begin our search to find the 'most festive' business window in town for Christmas.

“We would like as many of our local businesses as possible – not limited to just those on the High Street - to get Cowdenbeath into the Christmas spirit by decorating their windows over the festive period.

“All participating businesses will need to have their windows complete and, most importantly, your photos sent to us by Sunday, November 29.

“A link to the online voting, along with the photos, will be posted on the Cowdenbeath Civic Week Facebook page on Monday, November 30 and will remain live until Sunday, December 6 at 5pm.”

The winner will then be announced by the group on December 7 and the winner will receive £50 thanks to the Cowdenbeath Community Council who is sponsoring the event and their name added to the competition shield.

Any business looking to take part should email civicweekenquiries@outlook.com.
