A DRUNK man broke into the home of his ex-partner by smashing a window and then goods including a tablet.
Scott Clelland, 28, of Broomhead Drive, Dunfermline, later claimed he had broken in because he needed to use her toilet.
He appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on May 24 last year he broke into the house occupied by his former partner in Burntisland and stole an electronic tablet and tobacco.
Depute fiscal Laura McManus said the couple’s relationship had ended and the next day the woman left her home at 9.30am.
Shortly afterwards, she received messages from Clelland saying: “Phone me I’m at yours.”
And then at 1pm her neighbours could hear him shouting: “Let me f****** in, you cow.”
When she returned home at 5pm she found her back door had been damaged, a window smashed and items had been taken.
Depute fiscal James Moncrieff said: “He had been drinking and was desperate to use the toilet.”
The tablet was later returned to the woman by Clelland.
Sheriff Alastair Brown imposed a community payback order with 40 hours of unpaid work.
