A DUNFERMLINE man went to the home of his former partner and stuffed rubbish through her letterbox.

Dylan Smith also sent the woman a naked photo of herself with a message written over it.

Smith, 32, of Tweed Street, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court for sentencing.

He admitted that on October 1 at Broad Street, Cowdenbeath, he sent his ex-partner messages in which he threatened to post rubbish through her letterbox.

He then posted rubbish through her letterbox and sent her a message containing an intimate image of her.

Depute fiscal Laura McManus said the couple had been in a relationship for four years but had been separated for three years.

On the day of the incident, Smith sent a message to the woman saying he was going to her home.

He did so and she was not there at the time. He then proceeded to scatter rubbish from her bin in her garden and stuff some of it through her door.

“There was quite a mess,” added the depute.

He then sent the woman a naked photo of herself on which he had written, “You make me laugh”.

Defence solicitor James Moncrieff said: “It’s not a particularly pleasant matter and he’s regretful about it.

"He had hoped the relationship could be rekindled but found out she was going out with someone else.”

Sheriff Alastair Brown told Smith: “You threw a tantrum. Your behaviour was nasty, mean and spiteful.”

He imposed a four-month restriction of liberty order and a two-year non-harassment order.
