A BALLINGRY couple are celebrating 60 years of marriage this week.
Andrew and Mary Baird met at the Lochgelly Institute way back in 1956 before marrying four years later in 1960.
Since then, the couple have never looked back and are now celebrating an amazing 60 years of marriage, albeit with a quiet dinner rather than a party at the Hill of Beath club which they had booked due to current pandemic restrictions.
Andrew, who is 79-years-old and Mary, a year younger at 78, have two daughters, Margaret and Denise, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
Mary worked her whole life in factories, while Andrew led a career in pit construction while they raised their family.
Now, however, they enjoy going to Tenerife on holiday with Denise and her husband Duncan.
