A STREET food collection will be taking place throughout central Fife later this month to get supplies for local foodbanks.
The Benarty Foodbank and Benarty Pantry are seeking a number of items ahead of the Christmas period, when they are expected to be busier than usual.
On November 21 and 22, a number of volunteers will be out in the streets of Benarty and Lochgelly collecting what they can, with the help of Peter McGuire and Sons Plasterers and Roughcasters, as well as David Farrell Windows and Doors, both of which will be using their vehicles to help with collections.
The foodbanks have identified a number of items they are in need of if people can spare them.
They include tinned foods, soup, potatoes, meat, fish, cooking sauces, coffee, sugar, diluting juice, jam, cereal and pasta. They stress that any donation is welcome.
