A COWDENBEATH man caused a disturbance in a local shop by shouting abuse at another customer and calling him a “paedophile”.

Reagan Moffat, 23, of Hilton Road, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on February 12 at Raja Brothers, Moss-side Road, Cowdenbeath, whilst acting with another, he shouted and swore, made offensive remarks and uttered threats of violence.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said that at 6.20pm Moffat and another male entered the shop.

The pair began shouting at someone ahead of them in the queue.

She went on: “This person was not known to them but they were calling him an a******e and a paedophile.

“They were told they’d got the wrong person and also told to leave the shop,” added the depute.

When the man they had targeted left the shop, Moffat was still shouting and making threats of violence towards him.

Moffat, a student who was representing himself in court, gave no explanation for his behaviour but said: “I take responsibility for what I did.”

Sheriff Pino di Emidio fined Moffat £210.
