A 59-YEAR-OLD man who assaulted one police officer and racially abused another has been jailed.

The incidents took place in Lochgelly and the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

Kevin O’Hare, of Ivanhoe Drive, Glenrothes, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on September 18, at Grainger Street, Lochgelly, he assaulted a female police constable by striking her on the body and throwing a bottle of water at her.

He also admitted that on the same day, at the Victoria Hospital, he acted in a racially-aggravated manner towards another police officer by shouting repeatedly and making offensive remarks towards him.

Sheriff James MacDonald jailed O’Hare for 135 days.
