EXXONMobil, the operators of the Mossmorran based Fife Ethylene Plant, have donated £500 towards two new courses that are running this year 20/21 at Beath High School.
A group of S3 pupils are undertaking the Forest Outdoor Learning Award (FOLA), whilst a smaller group have started a City and Guilds Cycle Mechanics course.
Mr Whyte, who runs the courses, is delighted with this donation as there are significant start-up costs.
The FOLA course offers a ‘learner centred approach to developing skills and understanding to work sustainably in forest and outdoor environments’.
Cycling is a long time hobby of Mr Whyte and this course allows him to bring his passion into the curriculum and share it with like-minded young people.
