A FUNDRAISER is being held by Lochore man Derek Davidson, who worked hard during lockdown to create the Benarty Fairy Wood at Lochore Meadows, to make the feature even better.

He has started a 'gofundme' page to raise £250 to get an attractive wooden feature situated at the Fairy Wood which features all sorts of artistic creations by children from the Benarty villages made since March.

Said Derek, on the Benarty Matters Facebook page: "Chainsaw Carvings arrived today from the Black Isle along with other special secret goodies to be added to Benarty Fairy Wood.

"I am trying to raise funds for quick set post Crete in order to support these securely for the kids to sit on and have their pictures taken. Also required is good protective wood varnish."

Added Derek: "We also need to make a footpath area where these are to be situated as agreed with the park. Once funds are raise I aim to go on the hunt for helpers to assist with painting and digging holes and then lifting these very heavy items into position. Anyone willing to help please PM me. Thanks in advance."

The Fairy Wood is a very attractive feature at the country park and Derek's latest ideas will make it even better.
