A STAGECOACH bus driver had a moment to forget as their vehicle collided with a petrol station canopy in Dunfermline.
Roadworks on Winterthur Lane meant road users were diverted through the Tesco store.
A member of staff at the supermarket had to therefore guide the Stagecoach driver through the petrol station.
Unfortunately, the double-decker bus collided with a barrier just beneath the large canopy which covers the petrol points.
The bus was not carrying any passengers at the time of the incident and the driver was thankfully unharmed.
The incident took place at around 9.30am yesterday (Thursday) morning.
Stagecoach East Scotland addressed the incident
A spokesperson for the bus firm said: "Due to roadworks on Winterthur Lane, road users were diverted through Tesco.
"The driver operating the vehicle spoke to a Tesco staff member who helped guide our driver through the petrol station.
"The vehicle collided with a barrier under the canopy, however, the bus was not lodged and no damage was sustained.
"I can confirm there were no passengers onboard and the driver is also uninjured."
Winterthur Lane Roadworks
The roadworks on Winterthur Lane are expected to last for two weeks.
