THE lack of respect from some drivers in the area for 20mph and 30mph zones was highlighted by a councillor at the Cowdenbeath Area Committee.
During an item on policing in the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area, Councillor Darren Watt said that there were still some drivers persisting in driving much too fast in 20's Plenty zones.
He said: "There are some streets that are basically hotspots with drivers persistently going almost double the speed limit at times. It also affects 30mph streets too."
Community Inspector Gavin Cameron said that a couple of streets had been highlighted: "McGregor Avenue, in Lochgelly, and Perth Road, in Cowdenbeath, were two that come to mind and these have been given special attention. If people are concerned about speeding on their street just get in touch and we can have a look at it for them."
