A COWDENBEATH man admitted assaulting a colleague at a Markinch Hotel, when he appeared in Court.
David Beattie, 28, of Union Street, pleaded guilty at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, to seizing Taylor Hunter and striking him on the body with a knife at Drummonds Hotel, in Balbirnie Street, on July 29.
The Court heard that the the incident happened after Mr Hunter, the duty manager at the hotel, had made a comment to chef Beattie about suicide which accused took exception to.
An argument followed and Mr Hunter heard accused say, the Court was told, that he was 'going to stab him'. The dispute continued and Beattie grabbed a kitchen knife and struck out at the complainer cutting him on an arm.
Beattie received a structured three month deferred sentence with a fresh hearing dated for mid December.
