FOUR elderly 'ladies' from the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum enjoyed a tour of Dunfermline last Sunday afternoon.
The ageing vehicles broke out of the Lathalmond attraction to enjoy their first excursion since the COVID lockdown.
Guide co-ordinator Edward Busst said coronavirus restrictions were followed at all times.
"Social-distancing, fresh air and the five-mile radius were all taken into consideration," he said. "The route took them through Wellwood, Carnegie Drive and East Port to the car park opposite the Olive Tree where they stopped for a well-earned rest – after all, the oldest participant in this break-out is 91 years of age!"
The buses then went along Aberdour Road, through Duloch to Halbeath Leisure Park before returning to the bus museum.
"The public reaction to these old 'ladies' was fantastic and many photographs have already been posted on Facebook," added Edward. "No passengers were carried, only a few staff members to care for our old 'ladies'.
"The Scottish Vintage Bus Museum has not been able to open this year but we hope to be able to welcome visitors again when the current crisis is over."
