A CARDENDEN pub has been given the green light to have an external seating area.

The management of the Railway Tavern had asked Fife Council for a relaxation agreement to provide an external seating area at 1 - 3 Cardenden Road, in the village.

A report on the matter said: "Having considered and assessed your request, the Council as Planning Authority hereby agree the relaxation until April 7 2021 subject to the following conditions: that on or before the 7th April 2021 the development shall be fully removed and the site/property shall be reinstated to its condition immediately prior to the institution of Covid19 restrictions. This is to ensure that permanent forms of development are subject to normal planning controls in the interests of protecting the amenity of local residents and the visual amenity of the surrounding area. Also that no music is played so as to be audible to patrons within the outdoor seating area, to protect the amenity of adjacent properties."
