THIS week's Down Memory Lane photos have come from Sandy Wyse, from Ayrshire.

Sandy, who left Benarty in the early 80s, inherited these photos from his late aunt and are from a period when Glencraig was a bustling village.

The top picture is Glencraig Rovers from the 1912-13 season, three years after they won the Hoy Cup. Sandy has their names, back row, J Flockhart, A Muir and J Snee. Middle, J Brokey (trainer), M Gilhooley, J Fenton, J Logan, A Lockhart, P Aird and W McCann (president). Front, M McCallum, J Ross, J Greenlees, J Chalmers and J Dempsie.

The left hand picture is of Glencraig Colliery in the early 1950s surrounded by bings and the middle top picture is Malvenan's Bakers, in the centre of the village; and bottom shot is also from around 1950, looking to Clune Terrace with bings surrounding the village.
